Antique painting allegory of the summer from 17th century

Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Framework oil on canvas (glued on a tablet) depicting a mythological subject Allegory of Summer with excellent pictorial quality. Painting of great measure and impact, richly adorned with numerous details of fabulous quality. Framework that develops vertically, in an oval shape on a rectangular canvas (see photo), with Demeter (Divinity of nature and crops) and Dionysus (God of wine and intoxication) as the main figures. There are also two fauns, one portrayed next to the feline in the lower part, the other in the act of carrying a bundle of wheat (see photo). Frame in wood and plaster, not coeval (from the 19th century) adapted to the painting, pleasantly carved and gilded (see photo) structurally sound, with some signs of aging. Work of fabulous furnishings, it can be easily placed in different parts of the house, ideal for an important living room or study. Recently cleaned, it shows signs of conservative restoration and color recovery in several places (see photo). Overall painting in fair condition. sight size H 106 x W 87.5 cm.
