Great 17th century religious painting, Mary Magdalene

Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting a religious subject Magdalene with Sister Orsolina in prayer and Saint Jerome Emiliani inside a cave. Painting of great measure and impact adorned by an ancient frame, not coeval, pleasantly sculpted and silvered. Artwork finely painted in detail with different iconographic references including the chains (see photo below right) in reference to the imprisonment of the Saint. The book, the skull and the ointment jar (bottom left) in reference to the Magdalene. Work of strong visual impact and pleasant perspective with a glimpse of the landscape on the right. Ideal painting to be placed in a living room or study, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient religious painting. Canvas showing some signs of aging, some color drops including one clearly visible on the arm of the Magdalene (see photo). Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining and color recovery in different points (see photo). Artwork in beautiful patina, with signs of aging and restoration (see photo).
