Great 18th century religious painting

Great Italian painting from the first half of the 18th century. Artwork of exceptional size, oil on canvas, depicting a religious subject of excellent pictorial quality. Painting that develops horizontally pleasantly adorned with an important finely carved, lacquered and gilded antique wooden frame. Subject of great table and impact, for antique dealers and interior decorators.
Jesus forced his disciples to get into the boat and precede him to the other side. He went up the mountain to pray and towards evening he went to meet them walking on the sea. Seeing this miracle the disciples were frightened but Jesus reassured them and invited them to join him. Peter then began to walk on the water but seeing the rough sea he was frightened and began to sink. And immediately Jesus reached out his hand, grabbed him and said to him the famous phrase: man of little faith, why did you doubt?.
The setting of the painting is particular, the perspective chosen by the painter is beautiful and the brightness is good. The clothes and hair of the characters are blown by the wind. The seascape develops in the background with a pleasant view of the rocks. Painting difficult to find due to its unusual size, ideal for a large living room or hotel hall. Artwork that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the stretcher and color recovery in various points (see photo). In good condition with some signs of the restoration. Sight size H 149 x W 300 cm.
