Great antique painting from the first half of the 18th century, the Vision of Saint Romuald

Antique Italian painting from the 18th century. Artwork oil on canvas depicting a religious subject, Vision of Saint Romuald, of good pictorial quality. Antique copy of the famous painting by Andrea Sacchi from 1631, now kept in the Vatican Pinacoteca. Artwork that develops vertically adorned with a modern carved and silvered wooden frame. Painting that represents Saint Romuald in the foreground with some brothers (see photo). He is telling his companions a vision that came to him in a dream: some members of the order were welcomed into the sky by climbing a ladder whose end was lost in the clouds. As the saint speaks, the vision materializes in the minds of the disciples and takes the form in which he appears to the left of the scene. Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration, re-lined, replacement of the frame and color recovery in various points (see photo). In good condition. Sight size H 129 x W 79 cm.
