Holy Family painting from the first half of the 17th century

Antique Italian painting from the first half of the 17th century. Artwork oil on canvas depicting religious subject Holy Family with Saint John of excellent pictorial quality. High epoch painting adorned with a non-coeval frame, in wood and plaster, sculpted and gilded. Painting of great measure and impact, for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient sacred art. Painting depicting the central Madonna, enthroned, with Jesus asleep and stretched out on his legs (see photo). Interesting is the perspective used by the painter to represent Saint John and Saint Joseph, placed in the background, with architecture and curtains in the background. Artwork that takes its cue from the famous painting Madonna of silence (or Madonna of sleep) by Marcello Venusti (1515-1579). Painting that stands out for the quality of the drapery and for the pleasant use of light (see photo). Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration, relining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in some points (see photo). Painting that has recently been cleaned by a restorer, overall in good condition. Sight size H 117, 5 x W 101.5 cm.
