Neoclassical painting from 18th century, Heracles and Onfale

Antique Italian painting from the late 18th century. Framework oil on canvas depicting mythological subject Heracles and Onfale of excellent pictorial quality. Beautifully sized and pleasantly decorated painting with a non-coeval frame in wood and finely chiseled and gilded plaster. Neoclassical painting enriched by a fabulous colonnade, the central figure of Hercules rowing derided by the maids and Onfale dressed in the skin of the lion on the left (see photo). Scene representing the famous mythological tale in which Heracles was kept a slave for a year by the Queen of Lydia. Painting for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient mythological paintings. Work that has undergone a conservative restoration, cleaning, replacement of the frame and color recovery in some points (see photo). In good condition. Sight size H 72.5 x W 91.5 cm.
