Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 19th century. Artwork oil on canvas depicting a religious subject, Saint in prayer of good pictorial quality. Painting that develops vertically, of beautiful size and proportion, complete with a modern rectangular sculpted and gilded frame. Artwork (and frame) rounded at the top (see photo) finished with wooden elements of the frame (not gilded, see photo). Painting of beautiful luminosity characterized by soft colors, for antique dealers and interior decorators. The nun's face is sweet with her gaze turned to the crucifix resting on an elegantly worked column (see photo). Painting that has undergone a conservative restoration, re-lining, replacement of the frame and color recovery in some points (see photo).
