Flaminio Torri, Antique Sibyl from 17th century

Antique Italian painting from the 17th century. Artwork oil on canvas depicting a mythological subject, Sibyl, of excellent pictorial quality. Painting of good size and pleasant decoration adorned with a non-coeval frame, in wood and plaster, carved and gilded, regilded in the 20th century (see photo). Painting depicting a young woman seen frontally in half-bust, with turban and hands resting on a book, face slightly twisted and eyes turned up to the sky (see photo). Complete painting of the expertise of the professor and art historian Alberto Cottino dated 25 January 2022, which refers it to the painter Flaminio Torri (1620-1661) and collaborator (see photo). Artwork of great charm and elegance, for antique dealers and collectors of Sibille.
