Great wooden sculpture, 18th century reliquary

Great Italian sculpture from the second half of the 18th century. Finely carved wooden work depicting a religious subject, a saint, identifiable with the figure of Saint Joseph, of great size and pleasant decor. Sculpture for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of ancient sacred art, ideal for placing in a living room, sitting room or studio. Statue born lacquered and gilded, lacquer and gilding now visible only in some places (see photo). Sculpture in beautiful patina, structurally sound, with various small signs of aging and some faults (see photo, hands and base). On the back it has an opening door (see photo) with an internal compartment (reliquary), added over time. Sculpture in fair condition.
