Antique painting on panel from 17th century, la femme forte Déborah

Antique French painting from the 17th century. Oil on panel artwork of excellent quality depicting La femme forte Déborah, a typical subject in vogue in the first half of the seventeenth century. In this period several famous painters tried their hand at painting the strong woman, paintings with female subjects of different historical and religious origins, among which we remember Lucrezia, Cleopatra, Ester and Giuditta. Often women of high birth who had distinguished themselves for their courage, beauty and commitment to the ideals of family, nation and noble individuality. Painting adorned with a non-coeval wooden and plaster frame, from the 20th century, richly carved and gilded, complete with velvet passe-partout (see photo). Rounded rectangular painting in the upper part, in a niche (see photo), very pleasant. Artwork of excellent brightness for antique dealers, interior decorators and collectors of genre painting. Panel that has undergone a conservative restoration, nice work of palettes visible on the back (see photo) and color recovery in some points. Painting overall in good state of conservation.
